COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced that the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Championships will now be hosted at Weidner Field, home of Switchbacks FC, in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) will once again partner with Colorado Springs Sports Corporation and Switchbacks FC to host the two championships for the second time since 2021.

"It's exciting to welcome back the NCAA DII Men's and Women's Soccer National Championships to Colorado Springs next year," said Switchbacks FC President Nick Ragain. "Hosting eight teams for six matches at Weidner Field makes for a fun and action-packed week downtown."

The NCAA Division II Championships Committee approved the recommendation from the Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Committees that the RMAC host the 2025 soccer championships at Weidner Field. The 2025 championships were initially to be conducted in Matthew, N.C.; however, with Chattanooga removing its bid for the 2024 championships, the soccer committees chose to move Matthew, N.C., from 2025 to 2024. Upon a vote from the soccer committees, the 2025 championship was then moved to Colorado Springs for the second time within a four-year span.

"We are thrilled that the Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Committees supported our proposal to host the 2025 Championships," state RMAC Commissioner Chris Graham. "The 2021 joint championship we hosted was widely recognized within the Division II soccer community as having an exceptional facility in Weidner Field, considerable partners with the Switchbacks and Colorado Springs Sports Corp, and within one of the most beautiful cities in America. The 2025 Championships will be another memorable moment for all participating teams."

The 2021 NCAA DII Soccer Championships received additional personnel support from a wide array of RMAC institutions, including University of Colorado Colorado Springs, which will once again be a prominent partner in hosting the 2025 championships.

"We are so excited to partner with the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation and Switchbacks FC to bring the NCAA Division II Soccer Championships back to Colorado Springs in 2025," said RMAC Assistant Commissioner Ashley Dsida. "We are excited to showcase the Olympic City USA once again and provide the student-athletes, coaches and administrators with an incredible championship experience."

Since hosting the 2021 NCAA DII Soccer Championships, the RMAC has experienced incredible success within the worlds of men and women's soccer. Colorado State University Pueblo has closed out each of the past two seasons as runner-up in the men's tournament. UCCS made an appearance in the quarterfinals of the 2023 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. During the 2022 campaign, Colorado School of Mines also earned a berth in the women's quarterfinal round.

"We are thrilled to announce that Colorado Springs has been selected as the host city for the 2025 NCAA Soccer Championships. This is not only a significant achievement for our city, but also a testament to the vibrant sports culture and community spirit that define Olympic City USA. Hosting such a prestigious event will undoubtedly have a positive economic impact on Colorado Springs, bringing in visitors, revenue, and opportunities for local businesses," said President and CEO of Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, Megan Leatham. "More importantly, it aligns perfectly with the mission of the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation to inspire and advance our city through sports and community events. We look forward to showcasing our world-class facilities, hospitality, and passion for soccer as we welcome teams, fans, and stakeholders from across the nation. Together, we will create an unforgettable experience that reinforces Colorado Springs' status as a premiere destination for sports and camaraderie."
