June 7, 2021 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Lincoln Stars News Release
LINCOLN, Neb. - In conjunction with the United States Hockey League, the Lincoln Stars announced a 62-game schedule for the 2021-22 regular season on Friday.
Lincoln will start the year with two games in late September as part of the DICK'S Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic, returning to the league-wide showcase in Cranberry Township, PA after its cancellation in 2020.
On September 23rd, the Stars battle the Youngstown Phantoms, marking the first time Lincoln has played an opponent from the Eastern Conference since the 2019-20 season. The following night, Lincoln matches up with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
The Stars home opener will take place on October 1st at the Ice Box against the Tri-City Storm, kicking off a slate of 30 contests at home and 30 on the road. Lincoln's regionally-based schedule includes ten games against the Storm and ten against the Omaha Lancers.
In late January, the Stars and the Storm will play a pair of outdoor games in Dallas, TX in the second installment of the Frosty Cup. More information for the Frosty Cup (including tickets) will be announced at a later date.
Lincoln's longest homestand of the season is a five-game stretch starting on December 3rd until December 17th. The Stars will endeavor on two five-game road trips (October 9-23, February 11-20).
Unlike the hectic 2020-21 schedule that included numerous weekday games, 2021-22 consists of a more traditional weekend schedule. In fact, the Stars play only one game at the Ice Box on a weeknight: Thursday, February 24th. All home games start at 7:05 p.m. except for Sunday, April 3rd (3:05 p.m.).
