Kamloops Blazers News Release
Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers will be hosting two weekend games against the Portland Winterhawks on Friday, November 29th and Saturday, November 30th.
Friday is Valley First Credit Union Food Bank Night as fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to support the Kamloops Food Bank. It is also home-based business night with multiple businesses on hand selling a variety of items.
Saturday is the 27th annual Zimmer Auto Group Teddy Bear Toss game. When the Blazers score their first goal, fans can throw their stuffed animals onto the ice! Fans are also encouraged to bring scarfs, toques, gloves or any other winter wear that would be donated locally.
The Blazers started the teddy bear toss tradition in 1993-94 and now all 22 teams in the WHL along with minor pro hockey teams host their own teddy bear tosses.
All teddy bears collected will be distributed locally. The Kamloops Blazers will be at Royal Inland Hospital on the evening of Monday, December 2nd to distribute some of the teddy bears.
