- The Tri-City Americans will clinch a spot in the 2019 WHL Playoffs:
If the Americans win in any fashion against the Kamloops Blazers (7:00 p.m. PT/WHLLive.com).
The Americans have a 33-22-2-1 record, good for 69 points through 58 games. The Blazers, who sit third in the wild card race, have 50 points with 11 games remaining, giving them a possible 72 points by the end of their regular season schedule.
A regulation win would clinch a spot outright for the Americans while an overtime or shootout win would give the Americans 71 points and the Blazers a possible 71 points by the end of their regular season schedule. The Americans would hold the tiebreaker though off of more wins, with 34 compared to a possible 32 for the Blazers.
To date, the Prince Albert Raiders, Everett Silvertips, Vancouver Giants, Portland Winterhawks, and Saskatoon Blades have all secured a spot in the 2019 WHL Playoffs. The Raiders and Giants have both clinched their respective divisions while the Raiders have also locked up top spot in the Eastern Conference.
