2010-11 WHL season on the horizon

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - With the exhibition season now complete, the Prince Albert Raiders can focus on the start of the 2010-11 Western Hockey League campaign this coming weekend. There are many activities lined up within the community this week to help build up to the kick off of the season.

As well, on the heels of the SOLD OUT Johnny Reid concert Saturday night at the Art Hauser Centre, the Raiders have announced that Terri Clark and Crystal Shawanda will perform in PA on Thursday, November 25th.

Raiders trim roster to 25

The Raiders reduced their roster to 25 players this morning re-assigning 18 year old Forward Troy Gasper to the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL. Gasper appeared in 3 exhibition games with 1 goal and 9 minutes in penalties.

The move leaves the Raiders with 25 players on their roster: 2 goaltenders, 9 defencemen and 14 forwards. Ryan Button is still away attending Boston Bruins NHL camp, while Shane Danyluk (ankle), Mathew Berry-Lamontagna (wrist) and Tyler Paslawski (head) are on the injured list.

Raider Fan Bus Off to Saskatoon Friday

A fan bus will be heading to the Raiders first game of the regular season Friday night in Saskatoon. The cost is $50 which includes your game ticket, transportation and some pizza on the bus. The bus will depart the Art Hauser Centre parking lot at 5:00 PM Sharp on Friday. To register for the bus please call Blair Ross at 960-2190 (days) or 422-5550 (evenings) or email bross@sasktel.net.

Terri Clark Coming to PA!

The Raiders are pleased to present Canadian country music legend Terri Clark, along with rising star Crystal Shawanda, live at the Art Hauser Centre Thursday, November 25th at 8:00 PM. Raider season ticket holders will be receiving their special code in the mail early this week to go on line to www.raiderhockey.com and pre-purchase tickets to this show starting this Wednesday, September 22nd.

Tickets, priced at $49.50 and $59.50 including all taxes, go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, September 28th at 10 AM.

Raiders and their sponsors presented Adopt a School season tickets to Arthur Pechey (sponsored by South Hill Physio), Riverside (SGI), Vincent Massey (Crescent Heights Pharmacy) and Princess Margaret (Claude & Sandra Lorange) Schools. Later in the week tickets will be delivered to St. Michaels (Checker Taxi), Queen Mary (3 D Distributors), Westview (Conexus) and West Central (Paulsen & Sons).

Season debut of Face Off on 900 CKBI - Sept. 20 - 6:00 PM

Drew Wilson, voice of the Raiders will be joined by Kalen Kovich as co-host for the weekly phone in show featuring Raider General Manager and Head Coach Bruno Campese. Fans can call 764-2524 or email faceoff@rawlco.com.

SGI Take Care Out There Presentation at East Centre School - 9:30 AM

Nathan Deck, Jordan Rowley, Brandon Herrod and Andrew Herle will take part in the first SGI Take Care out there presentation of the season. The long running program encourages young people to make good life choices about drugs and alcohol.

Prince Albert Chamber of Commerce Business Builders Luncheon featuring Bruno Campese

Noon - Ches Leach Lounge

The annual Chamber of Commerce season kick off luncheon will feature Raider General Manager and Head Coach Bruno Campese talking about the coming season. The event will be in the Ches Leach Lounge. For tickets call the Chamber at 764-6222.

Raiders at Saskatoon Blades - 7:05 PM - 900 CKBI

The Raiders begin their 40th season of Junior Hockey in Prince Albert against their arch rivals in Saskatoon.

Watch all road games at JT's

A new feature this season for all fans 19 years of age and older is that all road games will be televised live in JT's Pub in the Ramada South Hill starting Friday, September 24.

Saturday, September 25

Saskatoon Blades at Raiders - AHC - 7:00 PM

900 CKBI HOME OPENER

The home portion of the season will begin with player introductions by Neal Headrick, Morning Man from 900 CKBI. The first 3000 fans Saturday get the 2010-11 Raider magnetic schedule.

A feature for selected home games will be having alumni perform the ceremonial face off.

NHL Legend David Manson will perform the face off Saturday.
