2008 Chicago Rush Schedule Announced

Chicago Rush News Release

The Chicago Rush will open its 2008 season at home on Monday, March 3, squaring off against one of its biggest rivals - the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats.

The SaberCats were Chicago's final opponent during the 2007 season, defeating the Rush in the American Conference Final before going on to win their third ArenaBowl title. It was the third time in the past four seasons the two teams met in the AFL semifinals.

The Rush schedule might be the team's toughest in its eight years, featuring 12 games against 2007 playoff teams - teams which posted a combined 102-58 record in 2007, including Dallas (15-1), Georgia (14-2) and San Jose (13-3).

"Seeing how challenging the schedule is, I certainly am glad that we have a large group of home games early in the season," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "I think the atmosphere at Allstate Arena could help us get off to a fast start as we work to gel as a team."

Including its opening week against San Jose, the Rush will play four of its first five games at Allstate Arena, including March 9 vs. Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul; March 22 vs. John Elway's Colorado Crush; and March 28 against the Arizona Rattlers.

In addition, the Rush will host Grand Rapids (April 20), Los Angeles (May 19), Kansas City (May 31) and Dallas (June 22).

"We think we have a very appealing home schedule which brings some of the league's premier teams to Chicago this season," said Rush president/general manager Mike Polisky. "We also have a great mix of dates for our fans, including one Friday night game, two Saturday night games, three Sunday afternoon games and two Monday night games."

Chicago's road schedule features trips to the team's three Central Division rivals - Colorado, Grand Rapids and Kansas City - as well as trips to Orlando, Tampa Bay, Utah, Cleveland and Georgia.
