2004-2005 Elmira Jackals Schedule Announced

The league office has released the 2004-2005 United Hockey League schedule. The 80 game regular season opens on Friday, October 15th. The Elmira Jackals opening weekend games will consist of a match-up versus the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday, October 15th, and the expansion Danbury Trashers visit the First Arena on Saturday, October 16th.
The Jackals will play 40 games at home and 40 on the road for the regular season, ending on Sunday, April 10th at home versus the Motor City Mechanics. The Jackals will play more home games on Fridays than any other day of the week with 13. The other home days are: Saturdays (11), Sundays (9), Wednesdays (6) and Thursdays (1).
With the addition of Danbury, Fraser, and Kansas City into the UHL this season the divisional match-ups have been changed. The Eastern Conference will include Elmira, Adirondack, Danbury and Richmond. The Central Conference will be made up of Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Motor City, Port Huron and Flint. The Western Conference will consist of the following, Fort Wayne, Missouri, Muskegon, Rockford, Kansas City and Quad City.
The Jackals will play Adirondack more than any other team this year with 19 total games (10 home, 9 away). Elmira takes on Richmond 17 times (8 home, 9 away), 17 games against Danbury (9 home, 8 away), and six games with Motor City (4 home, 2 away). Fort Wayne, Port Huron, Flint and Kalamazoo all face the Jackals four times during the season. Elmira will hit the ice against the Muskegon Fury three times with the only home game set for January 8th. The Jackals play Quad City and Rockford only once each this season and both games will be on the road. The expansion franchise in Kansas City does not have a scheduled date with the Jackals this season
Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost said "The scheduling will further promote our existing rivalries with Adirondack and Richmond, along with establishing a new rivalry with Danbury."

The complete schedule will be posted this evening on the Elmira Jackals website, www.jackalshockey.com. The puck will drop for weekday games at 7:00pm. Friday and Saturday contests will start at 7:30pm, and Sunday games will be played at 5:00pm.
