Toledo Walleye News Release
(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League today announced that the organization will host the 2002 Storm Faceoff Festival on Saturday, September 21, at the Toledo Sports Arena. The Faceoff Festival will include a number of activities, including an opportunity for members of the community to view, and have their picture taken with, Lord Stanley's Cup, which will be on exhibit in the Sports Arena. Throughout the day, the Storm coaching staff and several players will be present to meet and greet fans, who will also have the opportunity to tour the Storm locker room facilities. A number of prize packs, comprised of Storm merchandise and tickets, will also be awarded during the festivities.
As a part of the Faceoff Festival, Storm individual game tickets will go on sale at the Sports Arena Box Office at 10:00 a.m.
Mike Miller, the Vice President and General Manager of the Storm, stated that the Faceoff Festival was created as a special gathering for Storm fans and sponsors--as well as the entire community--to honor excellence in the sport and to kick off the impending season. "We wanted to get everyone together in a festive atmosphere so that our fans and sponsors could meet our new coaching staff and several of the players that are going to be on the team this season. We certainly believe that it is appropriate to celebrate last season's hard fought success of our parent club, the Detroit Red Wings--not to mention the entire history of achievement in this great sport symbolized by the Cup--while at the same time priming everyone for what we intend to be a quest for excellence in Storm hockey this season."
In order to facilitate those wanting to view the Cup, the following exhibition time frames have been established:
9:00 am - 10:00 am Storm VIPs
10:00 am - 11:30 am Storm Corporate Sponsors
11:30 am - 2:00 pm Storm Season Ticket Holders
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm General Public
Please direct all special media requests for access to the Cup to Mike Miller.
Season tickets are still available for the upcoming season, the twelfth in Storm hockey history. For more information about becoming a Storm season ticket holder or bringing a group to a Storm game at a discounted ticket rate, please contact the Storm office at 419-691-0200.
