Minnesota Native Adds Depth to Defense

Columbia, SC, September 9, 2002— Coach Scott White and the Columbia Inferno announce that rookie defenseman, Corey Hessler agreed to play for the 2002-2003 season. The 25-year-old will be joining Sean Owens, Robin Carruthers and Eric Labelle as first year Inferno players.

The 6'1", 205 lb., Mendota Heights, Minnesota native, played his collegiate career with the University of Alaska-Anchorage, adding 7 goals, 7 assists and 61 penalty minutes in 36 games during his senior year in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

"Corey had a solid senior season with the Seawolves under Head Coach John Hill." Said Coach White. "He competes and will add some depth to our defense."
