
15 Hits Support Strong Outings from Loaisiga and Acevedo Tuesday

ALTOONA, PA - The Thunder offense broke out for six runs across the fifth and sixth inning as part of a 15-hit attack on Tuesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona, PA. The victory for the Thunder was their fifth in a row.
With the game tied at one after four innings, the Thunder finally solved Curve starter Cam Vieaux. With one out, Bruce Caldwell singled and stood there after a Jorge Saez strikeout. Brandon Wagner following with a single and Trey Amburgey drove them both in with a double into the left field corner.
In the sixth against Bret Helton, the Thunder worked three walks and four hits to score four times in the inning. Rijo, Saez and Wagner all recorded RBI's in the frame.
Jonathan Loaisiga made the start for the Thunder and allowed a lead-off solo home run to Curve SS Cole Tucker. The 23-year-old right-hander settled in following the home run to retire 8-of-the-next-9 batters faced. His outing came to an end after a scoreless fourth inning in which he struck out a pair. Loaisiga went four innings allowing the one run on five hits and no walks, he threw 58 pitches, 42 strikes.
Domingo Acevedo followed Loaisiga in relief and earned the victory with three scorless frames. It was Acevedo's first appearance since being activated off the disabled list and his fourth overall appearance out of the bullpen for the Thunder this year.
Jorge Saez, celebrating his 28th birthday, and Brandon Wagner led the Thunder offense with three-hit games. Bruce Caldwell, Rashad Crawford and Jeff Hendrix all had two-hit nights. Crawford extended his on-base streak to season-high eight games, he has hits in 11 of his last 13 games played.
