Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Kannapolis, NC- Kannapolis (12-42) fell 15-7 to Greenville (29-26) in the third tilt of a four game series at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, Saturday evening. Kannapolis faced an early 13-0 deficit by the end of the fourth inning. The Drive scored 6 times in the 2nd inning and batted around against I's SP Ryan Rote. Rote took the loss, falling to 1-10.
Intimidators OF Salvador Sanchez belted his 4th homerun of the season, a 2-run blast in the 4th inning. Brandon Johnson also had a big night for the I's, going 4-6 at the plate with 3-RBI and a double. Anderson Gomez and Brandon each picked up 3 hits. Even with the 15 hits, the I's still lost. Greenville RP J.T. Zink improved to 3-3 with 2.1 IP out of the pen.
Kannapolis looks to elude a sweep, Sunday against Greenville. Intimidators RHP Derek Rodriguez faces Greenville's RHP Clay Buchholz. The first pitch from Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium is at 5:05.
