
10 Hits Lift the Grasshoppers Over the Hot Rods, 9-1 Saturday Evening

GREENSBORO, NC - The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 9-1 on Saturday, August 19. The Grasshoppers improved to 24-22 in the second half of the season while the Hot Rods fell to 27-19 as Greensboro outhit Bowling Green 10-2.
Leading at the plate for the Grasshoppers was infielder Brenden Dixon as he went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, three RBI, and two runs scored. Following close behind was infielder Termarr Johnson as he went 2-4 with a home run, five RBI, and one run scored.
Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher J.P. Massey as he tallied four strikeouts and gave up one hit and one earned run on three innings of work. Santiago Florez recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 5-2 on the season.
JJ Goss took the loss for the Hot Rods and fell to 5-5 on the season.
The Grasshoppers finish up their home series against the Bowling Green Hot Rods tomorrow Sunday, August 20, at 2:00 PM.
