St. Cloud Rox News Release
St. Cloud, MN - The St. Cloud Rox are now winners of three straight following a victory on Monday night at the Rock Pile.
The Rox took down the Thunder Bay Border Cats 5-3 on Monday to extend their winning streak to three in a row as they wrap up a three-game homestand.
St. Cloud jumped out to a lead over Thunder Bay thanks to a three-run fifth inning after trailing 2-1. That breakout inning gave the Rox the lead and they didn't look back, shutting down Thunder Bay the rest of the way to come out victorious once again following back-to-back walk-off wins.
Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas at Pine Bluff), Jack Barrie (Northwestern Ohio) and Ryan Lillard (Arizona State) all recorded one RBI to lead the way for St. Cloud. Ryan Weisenberg (Georgetown) added one hit and one run scored.
Sean Hupp (USC-Upstate) pitched 2.2 shutout innings in relief to pick up the win, giving up four hits, no walks and striking out two. Zach Lauzon (Concordia, St. Paul) started the game and received a no-decision, giving up five hits, one earned run and striking out six in 4.1 innings. Finn Del-Bonta Smith (San Jose State) pitched the final 1.2 innings and picked up the save.
St. Cloud will hit the road for seven games in eight days away from the Rock Pile. The Rox will return to St. Cloud on Wednesday, June 20 to take on the Mankato MoonDogs at 7:05 p.m. The game will feature award winning national entertainment act ZOOperstars! The first 350 fans 21 years and older will also receive gift cards to Blue Line Sports Bar & Grill containing various dollar amounts to be redeemed back at either Blue Line - Sartell or Blue Line - South.
The Rox are in their seventh season of Northwoods League Baseball in 2018. Single game and group tickets for the entire season are on sale now.
