Emperors Announce Wynston Sawyer as Manager, Retain Majority of 2025 Staff
February 13, 2026 - ROME, Ga - The Atlanta Braves, in conjunction with the Rome Emperors, today announced the High-A coaching staff which includes the 14th and newest manager of the franchise, Wynston Sawyer.
After managing the Single-A Augusta GreenJackets for two seasons, Sawyer makes the jump to High-A Rome for the 2026 season and will be surrounded by a host of familiar faces in the clubhouse. November 11, 2025 - LAS VEGAS - Drake Baldwin, 24, became the third former Rome Brave in the last eight years to be crowned National League Rookie of the Year on Monday.
Drake Baldwin, who starred for Rome in 2023 alongside Nacho Alvarez Jr., compiled a 3.3 WAR for Atlanta in 2025, marking the second-highest WAR obtained by any rookie catcher since 2000 (Buster Posey's 3.9 WAR in 2010). Former Emperor JR Ritchie Is Now a Top 100 Prospect
September 19, 2025 - ROME, Ga - With the graduation of Athletics starting pitcher Luis Morales, Atlanta's top right-handed pitching prospect, JR Ritchie, joins Cam Caminiti on baseball's top 100 prospects list.
The 35th overall pick in 2022 out of Bainbridge High School in western Washington state returned from his May 2023 Tommy John Surgery last July with the Augusta GreenJackets.
