Hartford Yard Goats News Release

HARRISBURG, VA- Home runs by Dan Gamache and Yadiel Hernandez powered the Harrisburg Senators to a 5-3 victory over the Hartford Yard Goats Tuesday night, the Goats' first loss to the Senators this season after four victories. Wes Rogers homered and had two hits for Hartford (12-12), but Harrisburg starter Luis Reyes held the Yard Goats to just one run and four hits in six innings to pick up his second win of the season. The Yard Goats will go for the series win on Wednesday morning.

Pitching one day after his 23rd birthday, Yard Goats starter Jesus Tinoco allowed the first three batters to reach base for Harrisburg (10-13). Daniel Johnson (10-for-24 vs. Hartford) opened the first with a double. Following a walk to Hernandez, Gamache unloaded with a three-run home run to right, his first of the year. Tinoco then settled down and retired 10 straight batters.

Hartford got a run back in the fourth inning on an RBI-single by Brendan Rodgers, scoring Dom Nunez, who reached on a lead off walk.  However, Reyes was able to escape two jams in the fourth and sixth innings by inducing double play ground balls.

Tinoco took the mound in the seventh inning for his longest outing of the season, but a lead off single by Johnson and Hernandez' home run, his second in two games, ended Tinoco's night.

The Yard Goats scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings on an RBI-double by Nunez and Rogers' home run to left field. Yonathan Daza added two hits for Hartford.

The Yard Goats go for the series win and a split of the six-game road trip Wednesday morning at 10:30. RHP Peter Lambert will be on the mound for Hartford against RHP Wirkin Estevez for Harrisburg. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and streamed on newsradio.1410.com and MiLB.com.
