
Red Claws Acquire James Tyler

PORTLAND - March 26, 2015 - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, have acquired veteran big man James Tyler from the available player pool. To make room for Tyler on the roster, the Red Claws have waived Rodney McGruder.
Tyler, a 7'2" center, was playing overseas in Taiwan. In 26 games, Tyler averaged 18.0 points, 18.7 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game. McGruder played 26 games with Maine this season, averaging 9.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per game.
The Red Claws can clinch the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a win at home Friday night against the Westchester Knicks. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. The Red Claws also play at home Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Grand Rapids Drive.
