
Bighorns Comeback Falls Short at Buzzer

RENO, Nev., Mar. 25, 2015- In spite of Ra'Shad James attempting a last second shot at the buzzer and the Bighorns coming back from a 24 point deficit, the Bighorns fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce 121-118 Wednesday night at the Reno Events Center.
James led the Bighorns after scoring 42 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing-out seven assists. Dar Tucker notched 32 points and 12 rebounds while Cameron Ayers added 13 points and four rebounds for the Bighorns. James went 16-24 from the field during the contest while Tucker went 12-21.
Scotty Hopson paced the Skyforce with 38 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Shawn Jones, who went 11-17 from the field, finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Fuquan Edwin added 20 points, three rebounds and four assists for the Skyforce.
During the first quarter, Tucker led the Bighorns with 10 points and four rebounds. James followed Tucker closely with nine points and six rebounds. The Bighorns and Skyforce ended the quarter with 33 points each.
In the second, Tucker notched 13 points and three rebounds. Ayers had six points while James tallied 6 points in the second. Tucker went 5-8 from the field in the quarter while Ayers went 2-3 from the field.
The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half trailing the Skyforce 69-60.
The Bighorns outscored the Skyforce 30-25 in the third quarter. James had 15 points and two rebounds during the third while Reggie Hearn went 2-2 in the quarter adding five points for the Bighorns.
The two teams brought it down to the last second in the final quarter, matching each other point for point. The Bighorns came back from a 13 point deficit in the quarter to tie the Skyforce. James totaled 14 points and three rebounds in the quarter while Tucker notched nine points and seven rebounds. With 1.8 seconds left in play, James got a shot off at the buzzer, but his attempt came up short.
The teams exchanged the lead a total of eight times and tied seven times.
The Bighorns return to the Reno Events Center Saturday, March 25 at 7 p.m. to host the Texas Legends. The first one thousand fans will receive a pair of Bighorns Sunglasses.
