Iowa Stars make changes to roster

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White today announced that the Dallas Stars have recalled Left Wing Loui Eriksson from loan to Iowa. In addition, the Dallas Stars have also reassigned Left Wing Francis Wathier from the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) to the Iowa Stars.

The Swedish-born Eriksson departs the Iowa Stars and rejoins the NHL's Dallas Stars tied for fifth in scoring on Iowa. He has five goals and three assists in 15 games this year for Iowa: 15(5/3/8).

Eriksson made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut on Wednesday, October 4th at Colorado. The 6-1, 183-pound winger notched the game-tying goal at 1:56 of the third period against goalie Jose Theodore. Drafted by Dallas with their first choice in 2003, he paced all Iowa Stars with 31 goals last season. Named the AHL Rookie of the Month for March, he finished 10th among AHL rookies in scoring, 60 points, and fifth in goals. The 21-year old was 22nd in the entire AHL in goals scored and 34th overall with 12 power-play goals. He was second overall on Iowa's Inaugural Season team in total points with 60: (31/29/60). Eriksson holds the Iowa Stars franchise record with an eight-game points-streak. In last season's Calder Cup Playoffs, he posted two goals and five assists in seven games: 7(2/5/7).

Drafted by the Dallas Stars with their eighth choice in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Wathier has skated in 11 games for the Stars ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads. While in Idaho, the St-Isidore, Ontario native averaged a point-per-game: 11(3/8/11). He also had a 'plus 4' rating and 23 penalty minutes in those games. The 21-year-old played in just 11 games for Iowa last season, before having season ending surgery. He was originally reassigned by Dallas to Idaho on October 12th. The 6-3, 205 left winger was named the Iowa Stars American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year last season.

IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars continue their five-game home-stand with games against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Friday and Saturday. The Friday the 17th game is the Toys for Tots kickoff!
