FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas has reached a permanent transfer agreement with Grêmio for defensive midfielder Thiago Santos, the club announced today. Per team policy, additional terms will not be disclosed.
FC Dallas acquired Santos from Brazilian first-division side Palmeiras on a permanent transfer on Dec. 5, 2019. He appeared in 22 overall matches for FC Dallas and recorded an MLS assist on March 7, 2020 vs. CF Montréal.
Santos, 31, spent five seasons competing for Palmeiras from 2015-2019. He scored six goals in 180 appearances for Palmeiras and was a critical part of Palmeiras' 2016 and 2018 Brazilian Championship titles. He also played for América-Mineiro from 2014-2015.
