St. David's Performance Center Officially Opens
Austin, TX - Austin FC has announced the official opening of St. David's Performance Center, the Club's $45 million, privately funded, state-of-the-art training facility located at Parmer Pond in North Austin. Anthony Precourt, Founder, Majority Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Austin FC, was joined by David Huffstutler, President and CEO of St. David's HealthCare, the leading healthcare system in Central Texas, and Claudio Reyna, Austin FC Sporting Director, to declare the facility officially open.
"St. David's Performance Center represents a significant investment in Austin FC's first team and Academy development, demonstrating our commitment to providing our world-class players and staff with access to a world-class training facility," commented Anthony Precourt, Founder, Majority Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Austin FC. "Our entire Club would like to thank St. David's HealthCare for their investment in helping to create the highest levels of care for our players and staff, and Karlin Real Estate for sharing our vision to bring this cutting-edge sports facility to Northeast Austin. Austin FC would also like to thank Harvey Cleary and their network of subcontractors who have pridefully created something truly magnificent under very difficult circumstances and through a very ambitious construction timeline."
"The opening of St. David's Performance Center is a significant milestone for Austin FC and its many supporters," David Huffstutler, president and chief executive officer of St. David's HealthCare, said. "We are committed to providing exceptional care to our community, and this world-class facility will enable us to do that in an entirely new way. In addition to allowing us to bring the same high-quality care you find in our hospitals to the Austin FC players, it will also allow for the optimization of each player's potential. We are excited to be a part of this winning team- both on and off the field"
"St. David's Performance Center represents how ambitious our ownership group and Club are about succeeding in MLS," added Claudio Reyna, Austin FC Sporting Director. "This is a state-of-the-art and world-class facility. The first team super-pitch, for example, features the same turf we have at Q2 Stadium, so our players are training on the surface they will compete on at home. St. David's HealthCare is not only bringing cutting-edge sports medicine and science equipment to this facility, but also key staff to help our players recover, recuperate and prepare for the rigorous MLS season. I am proud that we can now call St. David's Performance Center home. This is another milestone for our first team. It is also fundamental to creating a tradition of developing elite players from Central Texas through the Austin FC Academy."
"With St. David's Performance Center, we saw a unique opportunity to partner with Austin FC to create a heightened experience for the club and the community as well as our partners and tenants in the Parmer Pond district," Matt Schwab, Managing Director, Karlin Real Estate, said. "This will be a destination for those who work, play and gather at the Parmer Pond district and will provide an opportunity to be entertained and inspired by Austin FC's first team and academy teams. St. David's Performance Center represents not just the wellness of our club but also the health and vibrancy of our community. We are proud to be a part of this first-of-its-kind development within Austin and Major League Soccer."
"The ambitious and aggressive schedule for the St. David's Performance Center made it clear to us that Austin FC was highly motivated to bring MLS to Central Texas. We could not have achieved this milestone nor provided a fantastic world-class facility without the amazing team of partners, including St. David's Healthcare, CAA-ICON, Ironwood Real Estate, Gensler, and of course, Austin FC," commented a Harvey-Cleary spokesperson. We are humbled and appreciative for the opportunity to leverage our knowledge and expertise as builders to construct such a unique and challenging project. Harvey-Cleary is proud to welcome Austin FC and Austin FC Academy to their new home, and we wish them many years of success moving forward. Listos!"
St. David's Performance Center is located at a temporary address currently known as 13400 Harris Ridge Boulevard in Austin, within Parmer Pond, however this address will be updated in the near term. Parmer Pond is the anchor amenity under development at Parmer Austin, the 300-acre premier campus in the Parmer Innovation Center portfolio owned by Karlin Real Estate.
Designed by Gensler and constructed by Harvey Cleary, St. David's Performance Center groundbreaking occurred in June 2020. St. David's Performance Center was completed on schedule and is now actively in use by Austin FC's first team and Austin FC Academy, the fully funded developmental academy representing the highest level of competition for elite youth soccer players in Central Texas. The 23-acre site now features two (2) state-of-the-art buildings with a combined footprint of 30,000 square feet, which host the Austin FC first team and Academy players and technical staff, as well as the Club's Soccer Operations leadership. The facility features four (4) full-sized pitches, including three (3) natural grass surfaces and one (1) artificial turf surface, as well as one half-sized grass pitch. The artificial surface pitch includes spectator stands and concession infrastructure, in addition to serving as a playing surface that is being utilized by Austin FC's first team, Austin FC Academy teams, and, in the future, Parmer Innovation Center tenants and employees.
