INDEPENDENCE, MO (Sept. 23, 2015) - The Missouri Mavericks announced Wednesday afternoon that they have signed goaltender Jason Missiaen to a standard player contract for the 2015-16 ECHL season.

"Jason Missiaen already has a career that proves he can play at this level and in the American Hockey League (AHL)," said Richard Matvichuk, Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations. "He has a big body that serves him very well in front of the net, and we're excited to have him with us as we enter training camp here in the next week."

Missiaen was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens (Round 4, 166 Overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Since his professional debut with the Greenville Road Warriors (ECHL), the net minder has gone on to play 103 games in a Road Warriors sweater, and forty-four (44) games for the Connecticut Whale (AHL) and Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL). The twenty-five year old Chatham, Ontario native stands 6'8" (without skates on) at 206lbs.

"I'm excited to be with the Mavericks this season," said Missiaen. "From what I have heard about the city, I think it is going to be a great place to play and live. I cannot wait for the opportunity to get out on the ice in front of the great fans I have been told so much about."

The Mavericks will play longtime rival, the Wichita Thunder, in their home-opener on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Independence Events Center. Single-Game Tickets, Mini Pack Plans and Group Tickets are on sale now! Call the Missouri Mavericks at 816-252-7825 to speak with a ticket representative.
