
Energy Win against Division Rival Mad Ants

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (22-20) won 101-77 over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (24-21) Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Energy were led by Willie Reed with 24 points and 14 rebounds for his eighth straight double-double. Jarnell Stokes added 20 points and 15 rebounds and Damien Wilkins added 19 points off the bench. The Energy shot 51.3 percent from the field and recorded 58 rebounds and 18 assists. Jordan Crawford led the Mad Ants with 16 points.
It was a close battle between the Energy and Mad Ants for most of the first half. The teams exchanged the lead nine times in the half. Iowa held a 21-20 first quarter lead behind six points from Stokes. Iowa began to pull away in the closing minutes of the second half behind Reed's 14-second quarter points. The Energy outscored the Mad Ants 30-20 in the second quarter to hold a 51-40 halftime lead.
The Energy continued to pull away in the second half opening up a 26-point lead in the third quarter to take full control of the game. Larry Owens led the Energy with seven points in the quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Energy extended their lead to 28-points as they cruised to a 101-77 win over the Mad Ants.
Iowa returns home Monday, March 23 on $1 Day at 7 p.m. against the Delaware 87ers.
