(CEDAR PARK, TEXAS) - The Austin Spurs clinched a playoff spot friday night, defeating the Texas Legends 126-113 on the SWBC Court inside the Cedar Park Center. Austin's Jonathan Simmons scored a game-high (29 points, seven assists) while Texas was paced by Justin Dentmon (27 points, eight assists).
Austin's contributors included Orlando Johnson (23 points, seven assists), Erik Murphy (19 points, five rebounds), and Jarell Eddie (18 points, eight rebounds). Keith Wright led both teams in rebounds with 16.
The contest saw 14 lead changes and eight ties. The Spurs held a slight lead after each quarter until they pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Texas by 10. Austin's positive rebounding differential (53-32) proved crucial in the victory.
The Legends were led by Mike James (22 points, eight assists), Jarrid Famous (20 points, 14 rebounds), and Eric Griffin (18 points, five rebounds).
