LEAGUE HONORS: Both Jamar Beasley and Guto Machado's performances last week landed them on the MASL Team of the Week, which was announced Wednesday. AROUND THE MASL

Other teams were just as busy as the Fury on trade deadline day, with Las Vegas making the biggest splash. The Legends sent cash and other considerations to Detroit for Dominic Scicluna, the face (and a co-owner) of the Waza Flo. Las Vegas wasn't done beefing up for the playoffs, as they signed their former star, Enrique Tovar, who had been released from his duties as a player-coach for the Turlock Express before their game against the Fury. ... All of Las Vegas's moves paid dividends Friday night as the Legends defeated previously undefeated Baltimore 5-4 in overtime. Ivan Simental scored the game-winner 36 seconds into overtime. The Blast play in San Diego tonight. ... San Diego added a new milestone to its storied history last week, as the team scored its fastest goal in team history (8 seconds) in a 13-4 win over Tacoma. But it was who scored it that was the story. The Sockers signed 17-year-old Evan Mundine, a fan from Texas, to a one-game, $2,000 contract. Mundine, who is afflicted with Crohn's disease, Ehlers-Danios syndrome and ulcerative colitis, is a long-time friend and follower of San Diego's Brian Farber, who assisted on the uncontested opening goal. The Sockers returned the favor to Tacoma six seconds later. ... Friday night's scheduled game featuring Brownsville at Saltillo was postponed due to unsafe transportation options between the cities. A makeup date has not been set. ... Indoor soccer Hall of Famer Kim Roentved will suit up one more time Sunday, as the head coach of the Wichita B-52's will take on the league's last remaining undefeated team, the Missouri Comets. The Comets will also field a player-coach, as head coach Vlatko Andonovski will suit up as well. ... The Comets used a four-goal second and third periods to remain undefeated Friday night, as they knocked off the St. Louis Ambush, 10-5. ... Milwaukee kept pace in the Central Division, moving closer to a playoff spot by knocking off the Tulsa Revolution, 13-3. ... The Revolution's move into their new home was complicated by troubles moving their turf, forcing them to forfeit a game to Chicago. ... Turlock, depleted by player defections and trades, will try to keep its slim playoff hopes alive Sunday at ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash., as they'll take on the Tacoma Stars, searching for their first MASL victory.
