Suns Announce Roster Moves

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced several transactions that impacted their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's series opener with the Huntsville Stars at Bragan Field.

Left-handed reliever Edgar Olmos was optioned to Jacksonville from the Miami Marlins. In his five relief appearances for Miami, the southpaw compiled an 0-1 record and 7.20 ERA (4 ER in 5.0 IP). Prior to being promoted to the Marlins on June 2, Olmos appeared in 19 games for the Suns this year, accumulating a 4-2 record and 1.27 ERA (4 ER in 28.1 IP).

The Marlins also announced right-handed reliever Rob Waite was transferred from Jacksonville to Triple-A New Orleans. It marked the second time Waite has been transferred from the Suns to the Zepyhrs. In six outings, including two starts, the 26-year-old recorded an 0-1 mark and 4.63 ERA (6 ER in 11.2 IP) for the Suns. In two appearances, including a start with New Orleans, Waite has tallied no record and 7.36 ERA (3 ER in 3.2 IP).

In addition, Miami Marlins starter Nathan Eovaldi returned to the Marlins' active roster from his Major League Rehab Assignment with the Suns. In his three rehab starts with Jacksonville, the right-hander compiled a 1-0 record and 5.40 ERA (7 ER in 11.2 IP), adding nine strikeouts while walking four. The 23-year-old returned to the mound for Miami Tuesday night in his 2013 Marlins debut, firing six shutout innings while yielding just four hits, though he did not factor in the decision against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Suns roster stands at 25.
