In 2005, Utley set a Phillies record for RBIs (105) in a season and tied the record for home runs (28) by a second baseman. Utley was drafted with the 15th overall pick by the Phillies in 2000 and made his major league debut in 2003. His only stop in Baseballtown was in 2007 when he was on Major League rehab assignment following his recovery from a broken right hand.
