Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

Chris Reed's best outing of the 2013 season did not get the Chattanooga Lookouts' right-hander a win for himself, but he set the pace for a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Friday night at AT&T Field.

Reed worked five fine innings, allowing only two of the Wahoo's three hits and a walk, then was followed by Rob Rasmussen (3-2), who allowed one hit in two innings; Yimi Garcia, who struck out two in the eighth; and Jose Dominguez, who earned his first save of the season with another hitless, two strikeout inning.

The Lookouts got the game's only run in the sixth inning against Wahoos starter Ryan Dennick (2-4). After Rasmussen, hitting for himself, struck out, Rafael Ynoa, Miguel Rojas and Southern League-leading batter Joc Pederson each singled -- Pederson's hit bringing home the run. A chance to add to the lead was missed when Yasiel Puig struck out with men on second and third and one out, but the night's scoring was complete.

The last eight Pensacola hitters were retired in order.

The Lookouts had eight hits in the game, Ynoa picking up three in the leadoff spot, but they were only 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

Pederson was 1-for-4 and finished the night at .320.

The series continues tonight at 7:15 with Breakin' B-Boy McCoy suiting up to entertain the fans between innings. Andres Santiago (2-5) is the scheduled starter.
