Black's Four-Hit Night Pushes Barons Past Suns

Dan Black finished with a season-high four hits, helping the Barons snap a two-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Jacksonville Suns in front of 8,490 fans at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

The Barons wasted no time in jumping on Suns starter Sam Dyson (1-4, 3.07), scoring three runs in the second on a single by Tyler Saladio and RBI groundouts by Mike Blanke and Dan Wagner. They would tack on another run in the third on a sharp single to right field by Andy Wilkins, taking a 4-0 lead.

Barons starter Spencer Arroyo (4-2, 2.24) overcame three fielding errors behind him, picking up the win allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits over 5.0 IP.

Black provided a crucial insurance run with an RBI double in the eighth, capping a 4-for-4 night and securing the victory for the Barons. Keenyn Walker scored on the play after recording his league-leading 17th and 18th steals in the inning.

With the win, the Barons improved to 29-18 while the Suns fell to 26-18.

The Barons will look to make it two in a row over the Suns tomorrow night as RHP Erik Johnson (3-2, 2.44) takes the hill against RHP Bryan Evans (0-1, 21.00). First pitch is schedule for 6:05 PM CDT.
