Miller Promoted to AAA Tacoma; Tanabe Activated

Montgomery, ALA - The Seattle Mariners have made another roster move on Friday that affects the Jackson Generals roster. INF Brad Miller has been promoted to AAA Tacoma and C Carlton Tanabe has been activated from extended spring training in Arizona. There have now been eight roster moves affecting Jackson's roster in the last 24 hours.

MILLER, 23, was leading the Generals in batting (.294), hits (45), home runs (6), RBI (25), on-base percentage (.379) and total bases (72) this season. Miller was 2-for-4 last night with a double, home run and 2 RBI in Jackson's 3-1 win in Montgomery. Miller has hit safely 11 of his last 13 games, batting .347 (17x49) with 5 runs scored, 1 double, 1 home run and 10 RBI. In 3 pro seasons Miller has a career .332 batting average. Miller was the Mariners 2nd round selection in the 2011 draft out of Clemson University. He attended Olympia HS in Orlando, FL and resides in Windermere, FL.

TANABE, 21, appeared in 8 games earlier this season with A- Clinton of the Midwest League. In those games he was 2-for-19, with 1 double and 1 RBI. Tanabe was promoted to West Tenn in 2010 at age 18, but did not appear in a game. Tanabe is a career .196 batter and was drafted by the Mariners in the 24th round of the 2009 draft out of Pearl City HS in Pearl City, Hawaii.
