TODAY'S GAME: The Generals continue their 5-game road series tonight in Montgomery against the Biscuits with game #2 of the series...coming off 10-game homestand in which Jackson lost 3 of 5 from Tennessee then won 3 of 5 from Birmingham...Jackson took 3 of 5 from Montgomery at The Ballpark at Jackson 4/10-4/14...24-year-old Roenis Elias makes his 9th start for the Generals. This is his 43rd overall start in his pro career. Jackson is 3-5 in his starts this season despite the 2.90 ERA in those games.
GENERALS RECAP: SS Brad Miller hit a 2-run home run in the 3rd inning snapping a 1-1 tie as Jackson defeated Montgomery 3-1 on Thursday night. Miller (2x4, R, 2B HR, 2 RBI, BB) reached base in 3 of 5 plate appearances and recorded the team's only multi-hit game, while LF James Jones (1x4, 2 R, 3B, BB), DH Denny Almonte (1x3, 2B, 2 BB), 3B Vinnie Catricala (1x4), CF Francisco Martinez (1x4) and C Jack Marder (1x1) each recorded 1 of Jackson's 7 hits. Starter Anthony Fernandez (6.0,3,1,0,2,3) recorded his 2nd win of the season, allowing only 1 runs (0 ER) on 3 hits in 6.0 innings. Relievers Stephen Kohlscheen (2.0,0,0,0,0,4) and Carson Smith (1.0,0,0,0,0,1) combined to retire the final 9 batters in order, while Smith earned his 4th save.
