Poythress Added to Generals Roster From AAA Tacoma

Montgomery, ALA - The Seattle Mariners have made an additional roster move on Friday that affects the Jackson Generals roster. INF Rich Poythress has been added to the Jackson roster, coming down from AAA Tacoma. The move is the sixth affecting Jackson's roster in the last 24 hours.
POYTHRESS, 25, played in 37 games for Tacoma this season batting .254 with 5 home runs, 8 doubles and 18 RBI. Poythress was limited to only 86 games with Jackson last season and batted .304 with 6 home runs, 21 doubles and 45 RBI. He was on the disabled list with a left ankle sprain, May 10-July 1. Poythress has played in 234 games as a member of the Jackson franchise and is a career .276 batter with 18 home runs and 118 RBI. Rich has played in games for the Jackson franchise in 2009, 2011 and 2012. He was drafted by the Mariners in the 2nd round of the 2009 draft out of the University of Georgia. Poythress resides in Grovetown, GA.
