LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The Gwinnett Braves (12-21) squandered an early 2-0 lead and were outscored 7-1 the rest of the way as they dropped their tenth-straight game in a 7-3 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox (19-11) on Tuesday night. A total of 4,033 fans came out to Coolray Field for "Boston Strong Night" as the G-Braves raised over $15,000 for the Boston Marathon tragedy victims through OneFundBoston.org.

The G-Braves got off to a roaring start in the top of the first against Red Sox starter Alfredo Aceves. Todd Cunningham reached on a leadoff double and two batters later, Joey Terdoslavich hit a two-run home run to right-center field.

Gwinnett starter Daniel Rodriguez was sharp early, striking out five batters in the first three innings. However, his command abandoned him for one frame.

The Red Sox took the lead in the top of the fourth, scoring three runs on one hit and four walks. Rodriguez walked the first two hitters of the inning before giving up an RBI single to Brandon Snyder, making it 2-1. Jeremy Hazelbaker bunted the two runners over, putting runners on second and third with one out. Dan Butler walked to load the bases and Rodriguez got Ronald Bermudez to hit a potential inning-ending grounder back to the mound. The pitcher tossed to the plate for the first out, but catcher Jose Yepez threw the ball over the head of first baseman Ernesto Mejia as he attempted to complete the double play, allowing two runs to score.

That inning would be the only lapse in the performance of Rodriguez (L, 1-3), who allowed three runs, two earned on four hits over 6.0 innings and struck out six. He suffered the loss as the G-Braves' bats gave him just two runs of support.

The bullpen did not fare as well, giving up four more runs and expanding the Red Sox lead to 7-2. Andrew Russell allowed three runs on one hit in the top of the ninth. All three runs against the sidewinder were forced in with the bases loaded as he hit two batters and walked another.

After yielding two runs in the first inning, Aceves (W, 2-0) kept the G-Braves on ice. The right-hander allowed just those two runs over 7.0 innings and scattered nine hits to pick up his second victory of the season.

Alden Carrithers added to the run total for Gwinnett, hitting his first home run of the season in the ninth inning off Pawtucket reliever Pedro Beato. However, it was not enough, as the G-Braves stranded eight runners and were 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Terdoslavich went 2-for-4 with his sixth home run and two RBI to lead the G-Braves, while Yepez produced his second consecutive multi-hit game, going 2-for-4.

Jonathan Diaz led Pawtucket, going 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, while Snyder went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The Gwinnett Braves continue the series against the Pawtucket Red Sox on Wednesday night, first pitch at Coolray Field scheduled for 6:05 PM. Left-hander Sean Gilmartin (2-1, 2.70 ERA) will start for the G-Braves against right-hander Terry Doyle (2-2, 3.03) of the Red Sox. Listen to the game on WDUN 550 AM and 102.9 FM with Tony Schiavone calling the play-by-play.

Wednesday is another "Winning Wednesday" at Coolray Field, sponsored by the Georgia Lottery. Play along with Baseball Bingo for a chance to win great prizes!
