January 26, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Titans News Release

Last Meeting

January 5, 2013 - Wheeling jumped all over the Titans from the opening faceoff, scoring 49 seconds into the first and not letting up until 5 hit the back of the net in the first 20 minutes, giving the Nailers a convincing 5-0 win at home, the 3rd in 3 games at WesBanco against Trenton

Next Meeting

It will be just over a month until these two see each other again, as Trenton will revisit WesBanco in Wheeling, WV, for a weekend pair starting Friday, March 1st.

Streaks (Last 10)

Wheeling: 1-0-1-1 (6-2-1-1); Trenton: 1-0-0-1 (3-5-1-1)

Record (Road/Home)

Wheeling: 2-11-2-3 Road; Trenton: 11-9-1-1 Home (7-6-1-1 last 15 at Home, including 3 OT and 1 SO wins).

Tell Your Stats To Shut Up

Wheeling sits in second place in the Atlantic Division (and 6th in the Eastern Conference, despite having a worse Goal Differential (-5, 118 GF, 123 GA) than 3rd place Elmira, the Titans road opponent tomorrow (+2, 139 GF, 137 GA). Plus, with a horrific road mark (2-11-2-3), they are all but unbeatable at home (17-3-1-2).

DID YOU KNOW?

Trenton has one more game ( at Elmira Jan 27), before leaving for its Florida swing. The Titans have two in Estero against the defending ECHL champion Everblades (Jan 30, Feb 1), then a single in Orlando February 2. Trenton went 0-1-1 last year in the Sunshine State (both against FLA). This will be the first appearance for Trenton in the state-of-the-art Amway Center (home to the NBA's Orlando Magic), in Orlando.

Tachycardia Titans

Trenton really making things interesting over their last few games.

The Titans have had a real flair for the dramatic over their last few wins, including a couple of overtime heroics.

Last night Derrick Pallis finished off a PP with his 3rd goal of the season (his 2nd PPG) to clinch a 4-3 win in over Las Vegas with 23 seconds left in OT. The game before, it was his PPG against Cincinnati in the final minute of regulation that forced OT in an eventual SOL, 4-3.

Two games prior to that in Elmira, the Titans stunned the Jackals with a 4-1 lead late in the first. Twice in the game (also at 6-3) Trenton had 3-goal leads, only to see Elmira cut the deficit to 1. The Titans finally held off Elmira with 2 late goals of their own for an 8-5 win.

Prior to that, Reading forced OT on the Titans home ice. Andy Bohmback provided the heroics in the final 27 seconds of a 4-3 win. It was the second straight home OTW over Reading, as current Phantom Marcel Noebels finished off a 2-1 win with a blast in the extra session.

So watch your heart and don't leave your seat when you watch Trenton - you might just miss something dramatic.
