Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Former Cincinnati Cyclones forward Cory Conacher became the tenth Cyclones alumnus to make his NHL debut when he played for the Tampa Bay Lightning last night.
Conacher, now in his second full year pro, posted a goal and an assist in the Lightning's 6-3 over the Washington Capitals and earned the third star of the game. In a short three-game stint with the Cyclones during the 2010-11 campaign, he collected seven points (5 goals, 2 assists). The 23-year-old went on to have an MVP season in the American Hockey League with the Norfolk Admirals last year, where he amassed 80 points (39 goals, 41 assists) in 75 games and helped his team capture the Calder Cup.
Conacher becomes the tenth former Cyclones player to skate in an NHL game, and the first this season.
