Everett Silvertips News Release

KENNEWICK - Austin Lotz stopped 45 shots in goal and Carson Stadnyk and Josh Winquist provided the appropriate offense as the Everett Silvertips knocked off the Tri-City Americans 2-1 in a shootout Tuesday night at the Toyota Center. The victory snapped a four-game road losing skid for the Silvertips, who won their second straight in Kennewick following a 3-0 win over the Americans in their last visit on November 9.

After making 45 saves on 46 shots through regulation and overtime, Lotz (5-10-0-1) turned aside all three Tri-City shooters after Josh Winquist scored in round one of the shootout to clinch the victory. Carson Stadnyk scored the lone Silvertips goal in regulation time to tie the game and force extra time. Eric Comrie (15-12-1-2) stopped 29 Everett shots in the shotoout defeat.

The Americans jumped out to an early 10-1 shot edge before the Silvertips battled back to outshoot them 7-6 during the back end of the opening period. Tri-City got the only goal of the first on the powerplay however, as Justin Feser one-timed a long cross-ice feed into the top corner to make it 1-0 Ams through 20 minutes.

Everett had four powerplays in the second period, including 90 seconds of 5-on-3 time, but weren't able to beat Eric Comrie to tie things up. The 'Tips outshot the Americans 12-11 in the middle stanza, but the home team still took a 1-0 lead into the third period.

Carson Stadnyk got the Silvertips on the board at 9:46 of the third, following his own wrist shot to the net and chipping the loose rebound into the top corner to tie the game at one. Everett killed off a Tri-City powerplay and Lotz stoned Ryan Chynoweth on a rebound opportunity in front to preserve the tie late in regulation.

After a scoreless overtime, Winquist started the shootout with a goal for Everett in round one. Lotz then forced Justin Feser, Brian Williams and Connor Rankin to fire each of their shots wide to finish the 2-1 Silvertips win. The Americans finished with a 46-31 shot advantage and scored on one of five powerplay chances, while Tri-City was 1 for 4.
