Matchup:
The Solar Bears continue their five-game road trip against the Las Vegas Wranglers, looking to snap out of a four-game losing skid. After back-to-back 1-0 losses to Gwinnett, Orlando struck with 2.5 seconds left on the clock against Ontario on Wednesday night. The late-period goal was enough to cool off a red hot Ontario squad, as the Orlando fell by an eventual 6-2 score. The Wranglers were in action last night, needing extra time to a solve a contest that went past regulation locked in a 5-5 score. Only 46 seconds were needed in the extra frame, as C Eric Lampe lifted Las Vegas to a 6-5 victory over the San Francisco Bulls.
Solar Bears Notes:
LW Nick Petersen is one assist away from 50 in his ECHL career... RW Kevin Baker is two points shy of 400 in his professional career... Orlando's game on Wednesday against Ontario saw the Solar Bears set a team high for penalty mintes (PIM) in a game with 37. The Reign's 49 PIM were also the most taken by a Solar Bears opponent... D Mike Liambas has been activated from the 21-day Injured Reserve and is expected to play tonight... D Corbin Baldwin was reassigned to the Solar Bears from Houston yesterday and is expected to play tonight. He last appeared on Saturday, November 17, against the Kalamazoo Wings... RW Chris Lawrence was placed on the 21-day IR on Monday... D Brad Good was placed on reserve today... G Mike Broduer remains on the 21-day IR... Both D Josh Caron and F Ryan Ginand are currently recalled to the Houston Aeros.
Las Vegas Notes:
Adam Huxley is fourth in the ECHL with 78 PIM and is tied for the league lead with eight major penalties... Las Vegas is fifth on the penalty kill with an 85.7 penalty kill percentage... The Wranglers have won two straight games and three out of their last four contests... C Eric Lampe leads the team with 14 points and seven goals, and his seven assists are tied for second... Las Vegas is 4-0-0 when leading after two periods.
