Elmira Jackals Announce Roster Moves

ELMIRA, N.Y. - November 30, 2012 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators have reassigned defenseman Chris Wideman to the club from the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators. Additionally, forward Dustin Gazley has been recalled from his loan to Elmira by Binghamton.

Wideman returns to Elmira where he played the first four games of his rookie season. The former Miami-Ohio RedHawk has four assists and a +5 rating in his time with Elmira. Wideman recorded a team-high three assists on October 20 against Wheeling in his last game with the Jackals before a reassignment to Binghamton. With the B-Sens, Wideman has logged six games and four penalty minutes.

A fourth-round draft pick of Ottawa's (#100 overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Wideman never missed a game in his collegiate career. He potted 95 points (12G, 83A) and 191 penalty minutes in 163 games, and helped the RedHawks reach the NCAA national championship game as a freshman in 2009.

Gazley, the Jackals' leader in points with 19, is making his first trip to the AHL. He attended training camp with the B-Sens after signing an AHL contract over the summer and appeared in one exhibition game. As a rookie, last season, Gazley led the ECHL in scoring with 85 points (20G, 65A) and won ECHL rookie of the year honors. He was also the only Jackal to dress in all 72 games.
