Stamps Play Host to Eskimos on Friday

Calgary Stampeders News Release
For the third time this month, it's the Battle of Alberta as the Calgary Stampeders (7-5) host the Edmonton Eskimos (5-7).
Friday's game is Amateur Football Day presented by Tim Hortons and kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at McMahon Stadium.
After the Canadian Football League schedule-maker kept the Stamps and Eskimos apart for the first two months of the 2012 season, the provincial rivals are seeing a lot of each other in September. Calgary won both of the previous meetings - 31-30 at McMahon on Labour Day and 20-18 in the rematch at Commonwealth Stadium on Sept. 7.
The Stamps saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday with a 30-25 setback in Regina against the Saskatchewan Roughriders but they remain in sole possession of second place in the West Division with a 7-5 record. The Eskimos, meanwhile, are 0-4 in September with the most recent loss coming by a score of 19-18 against the visiting BC Lions on Saturday.
Calgary is 4-2 at home this season while the Eskimos sport a 2-4 road record.
Game-day experience
To celebrate Amateur Football Day, two teams from Calgary's Tim Hortons Timbits program - the Hilltoppers and the Mavericks - will be playing on the McMahon turf prior to the game and at halftime. Tim Hortons will also be giving away lots of prizes including gift cards and gift packs. Don't forget the pre-game tailgating and the Fun Zone located on the southeast corner of McMahon across from theTicket Office. The attractions for this game's Fun Zone include stageperformances by the Kugekai Lion Dance Team, Grim Reminder, The Collective, the Calgary Youth Chorus and Michael Bernard Fitzgerald. Stamps players will be on hand to meet with fans and sign autographs. In addition, Q107 Radio's Sarah Crosbie will be taking part in a special sideline performance by the Stampeder Outriders, presented by Grey Eagle Casino. After the game, Fisherman's Friend products will be handed out to fans as they leave the stadium.
Nik Lewis tribute
One of the Stampeders' standout players will be honoured at halftime for recently reaching a significant milestone. The tribute to Nik Lewis is to commemorate the slotback reaching 10,000 career receiving yards during the Sept. 14 home game against Winnipeg. On the same play, the nine-year veteran also reached the 700-catch milestone for his career. The Stamps' Store will be selling 8" X 11" framed pictures of No. 82. The pictures are only $10 and are in store while supplies last.
