Alex Yarbrough to DL; Kevin Moesquit activated from DL

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that INF Alex Yarbrough has been placed on the 7-day disabled list and that INF Kevin Moesquit has been activated from the 7-day DL. Mike LaCassa, Minor League Operations Manager for the LA Angels, announced the move on Monday.

Alex Yarbrough was the Angels fourth round pick in the 2012 First Year Player Draft out of Ole Miss. In 46 games for the Kernels, he is batting .293 (55-188) with nine doubles, seven triples and 23 RBI. He also has nine stolen bases in 11 attempts.

Kevin Moesquit was on the Kernels 2012 Opening Day Roster and went on the DL back on August 6th. Prior to going on the DL, he was batting .221 with 13 doubles, 2 HR and 29 RBI in 92 games.

With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25, with two players on the disabled list.

The Kernels continue a six game, seven day home stand tonight at 6:35 pm against the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. The upcoming home stand continues through Friday, August 17th.
