MEMPHIS, TENN. - Five late-inning runs helped the Express break a seventh inning tie to earn an 8-4 win over Memphis in Saturday night's Pacific Coast League action at AutoZone Park. Round Rock (46-61) has won three straight. Memphis (42-65) has lost four of its last five.

With the score knotted at three in the top of the seventh inning, Elio Sarmiento singled and Tommy Mendonca and Luis Hernandez reached on errors to load the bases with none out against Redbirds reliever Jess Todd. Two batters later Yangervis Solatre drove in Sarmiento with a sacrifice fly. Brad Nelson followed with an RBI single to score Mendonca to give the Express a 5-3 advantage.

The Express added three more insurance runs in the eighth thanks to two-out RBI base hits by Luis Hernandez and Julio Borbon. The E-Train added another run when Borbon scampered home on a Maikel Cleto wild pitch.

Johan Yan (1-1) picked up the win for Round Rock. He threw two and one-third scoreless innings and allowed just one walk and picked up a season-high five strikeouts. Chad Bell started for the Express and made it through four and two-thirds innings and allowed three runs on eight hits and four walks and struck out two.

Todd (2-2) was saddled with the loss for Memphis. He threw two and one-third innings and allowed two unearned runs on two hits and had a strikeout. Redbirds starter John Gast tossed six innings and allowed three runs on seven hits and one walk and struck out nine.

Memphis struck first in the bottom of the third inning when Matt Adams drove in Adron Chambers with an RBI single and then scored on a Stephen Hill double. Round Rock responded in the top of the fourth with three runs, highlighted by a Sarmiento two-RBI single. Guilder Rodriguez also had an RBI single.

Memphis tied things up in the fifth when Ryan Jackson drove in Hill with a two-out RBI single.

The Redbirds added one more run in the ninth when Lou Montanez singled off Fabio Castillo to plate Hill with one out.

Sarmiento led the way for the Express with three hits, two RBI and two runs scored. Borbon, Nelson, and Greg Miclat each had a pair of hits.

Hill paced the Redbirds with two doubles, an RBI, a walk and two runs scored. Adams had two hits, an RBI and scored a run as well.

Round Rock continues its five-game series Sunday against Memphis with a doubleheader at AutoZone Park. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. CDT. Game two is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT. Right-hander Neftali Feliz (0-1, 1.96 ERA) makes his third rehab start for the Express in game one opposite Redbirds left-hander Tyler Lyons (1-6, 5.01 ERA). Justin Grimm (0-0. 3.00 ERA) will start game the second game for the E-Train. Memphis' game two starter has not been announced.
