Rain Suspends Cougars, Hot Rods

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - After the Kane County Cougars grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the second, storms smacked down on Bowling Green Ballpark, causing the Cougars and Bowling Green Hot Rods to be suspended on Thursday night.

Julio Aparicio led off the second with a single and advanced to second when Henry Moreno reached on a two-out error by third baseman Tyler Goeddel. Kenny Swab was walked by starter Ryan Carpenter while Tim Ferguson picked up an infeld single to score Aparicio. Moreno trotted across the dish after Alex Llanos reached on error by second baseman Ryan Brett.

On Friday, the Cougars and Hot Rods will pick up Thursday's ballgame at the start of the bottom of the second at 5:00 p.m. Then, they will play their regularly-scheduled contest after which will be a seven-inning contest.

The Cougars are at Bowling Green Ballpark on Friday when they take on the Hot Rods at 5:00 p.m. in a doubleheader. You can listen to the broadcast on www.kccougars.com, beginning with Cougars on Deck at 4:45 p.m. Right-hander Bryan Brickhouse (2-1) will start for the Cougars against fellow righty Parker Markel (4-5) following the conclusion of the suspended contest.
