
River Bandits Club Captains 7-2

Lake County Captains News Release
(Davenport, IA) - The Lake County Captains (14-12, 45-50) fell to the Quad Cities River Bandits (14-12, 49-46) by a final of 7-2. Quad Cities used a three run homer in the fourth inning by Jeremy Patton and took the early 3-0 lead. The homer was the first of the season for Patton. Quad Cities leads the Mid-West League in homeruns with a total of 81 for the season.
Quad Cities added four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. The number nine hitter in the order, Roberto Reyes un-loaded his third homerun of the season to right field and it was 4-0. With two runners on base, David Medina doubled home a run and it was 5-0 Bandits. A sacrifice fly by Luis Mateo made it 6-0 and Anthony Melchionda doubled home the final run of the inning to give the Bandits a 7-0 Lead.
Jerrud Sabourin had two of the Captains three hits. Jerrud singled in the fifth inning to break up the no-hit bid by Hernandez. Jerrud connected for his third homerun of the season and that got Lake County on the board in the seventh inning. In the eighth inning Lake County added another run. Jake Lowery walked and motored to third on a single by Leonardo Castillo. Lowery scored on a passed ball and the score, which turned out to be final, was 7-2 Quad Cities.
RHP Mason Radeke (5-4) started the game for the Captains and was saddled with the loss. Mason lasted four and one third innings allowing six hits, seven earned runs, three walks and he fanned seven. Radeke also allowed two homeruns. Antwonie Hubbard pitched two and two thirds innings, allowing two hits and one strike out. Louis Head pitched one perfect inning for the Captains.
LHP Hector Hernandez (6-5) got the start for Quad Cities and earned the win. Hernandez twirled seven innings allowing just two hits (both to Sabourin) and one earned run. Hernandez struck out seven and gave up one homer. Robert Stock pitched one inning and surrendered the other run. Danny Miranda pitched the ninth and put the Captains down in order.
The Captains will conclude the three game set on Friday Night in Davenport, Iowa. The Captains will send RHP Felix Sterling (3-8, 6.21) to the hill to start against RHP Brad Watson (0-0, 0.00) for Quad Cities. First pitch is at 8:00 PM ET.
