Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Lansing, MI - Right-handers Jake Floethe and Jason McEachern combined to hurl nine shutout innings, leading the Bowling Green Hot Rods (33-28) to a 3-0 win over the Lansing Lugnuts (41-19) on Friday night at Cooley Law School Stadium. Todd Glaesmann also contributed with two hits and an RBI as the Hot Rods sent the Lugnuts to their first home series loss of the season.

All of the offense for the Hot Rods came in the top of the third inning when Drew Vettleson, Jeff Malm, and Todd Glaesmann all drove in runs consecutively. The three tallies were more than enough for the right arms of Jake Floethe and Jason McEachern.

Floethe earned his sixth win of the season and tied a career high with seven innings pitched, and McEachern chipped-in with his second save of the season.

The second straight Hot Rods win also clinches the second straight road series win for the team. With nine games to go, the Hot Rods have a two-game lead for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Division.

The Hot Rods will attempt to win their third straight game when they open a three-game series with the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field. Game one of the three-game series begins at 6:00 PM CDT.

Tune in to the game on the flagship station of the Hot Rods Radio Network, 1340-AM "The Ticket", and online at 1340wbgn.com.
