Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, have announced that pitcher Rudy Brown has joined the team from the Royals' extended spring training complex in Arizona. Pitcher Nick Graffeo has been promoted to Class-A Advanced Wilmington. Graffeo, who was named a Midwest League All-Star on Monday, will not participate in the June 19th game. The Midwest League will fill Graffeo's roster spot with a replacement, to be announced at a later date. The Cougars open a three-game series against the Quad Cities River Bandits, a St. Louis Cardinals affiliate, at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

Brown (Non-drafted free agent, 2010) pitched in 19 games at Burlington (Rookie) last season, going 1-3 with a 4.31 ERA. Brown is the only left-handed pitcher on manager Brian Buchanan's roster.

Graffeo (38th round, 2010), made 18 appearances for the Cougars and led the team with 8 saves.
