Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Bowling Green, KY - Josh Sale hit his fifth home run but the Bowling Green Hot Rods (23-19) could not overcome four errors in a 3-2 loss to the Dayton Dragons (15-27) on Friday night at Bowling Green Ballpark. In just twelve games as a Hot Rod, Sale has hit a team-leading five home runs and has also driven in 12. Despite the loss, the Hot Rods have still won six of eight games and just put to bed a 5-2 homestand.

Sale's home run was a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning that briefly gave the Hot Rods a 2-1 lead. Bowling Green trailed 1-0 early, but Tyler Goeddel drove home a run with a single in the bottom of the fifth to tie the score. The Dragons scored two runs in the seventh inning to take a 3-2 lead that they never surrendered.

With the seven-game homestand in the rear-view mirror, the Hot Rods embark on the season's longest road trip, starting Saturday night in Fort Wayne, IN. The 10-game, 11-day trek starts with the first of three games with the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Future Padres) from Parkview Field on Saturday night at 6:05 PM CDT. Tune in to the game on WBGN-AM1340 "The Ticket" and online at 1340wbgn.com. Join Hank Fuerst for the Forever Communications Pregame Show at 5:45 PM CDT.
