Florida Panthers Recall Tyson Strachan from San Antonio

SUNRISE, Fla. (January 23, 2012) - Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Tyson Strachan.

Strachan, 27, earns his first call-up of the season to Florida. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defenseman has played in 67 National Hockey League contests, all with St. Louis (2008-11), registering six assists and 82 PIM. He has played in 30 games for San Antonio this season recording 10 points (3-7-10) and 26 PIM.

The Melfort, Sask. native was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fifth round (137th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Florida (22-15-10) hosts the Philadelphia Flyers tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. The game can be seen live on FS Florida and heard on WFTL 640 AM.
