The Peoria Rivermen will drop the puck with the Milwaukee Admirals at 10 a.m. on Tuesday for a fun-filled field trip that students are sure to remember. The second Faceoff Field Trip will be filled with educational elements and each child in attendance will receive an educational workbook that will aim to teach various subjects through hockey.

"We have built on the success of last year's event and believe that this year's game will be another fantastic event for the kids, teachers and parents to be a part of," said Rivermen Chief Operating Officer Jason Penning. "So many local businesses and generous season-ticket holders have stepped up and helped us create the biggest and loudest classroom in Central Illinois."

During breaks in the action, the students will be instructed to use their workbooks to help build their knowledge of subjects such as math, science, geography, and physical education using fun hockey references.

Tickets to the game have been donated to local schools by area businesses and Rivermen season-ticket holders.

The first-ever Faceoff Field Trip was held at Carver Arena on Nov. 17, 2010 and drew 5,117 people to the game between students and fans. That number is expected to grow this season with nearly 6,000 students estimated to attend.

The game is also open to the general public and tickets can be purchased by calling 309-676-1040, online through www.rivermen.net or at the Peoria Civic Center box office. The box office will open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
