Panthers Recall Brian Foster from San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (January 9, 2012) - Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that goaltender Brian Foster has been recalled from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL). In addition, the Rampage have signed goaltender Andrew Volkening to an amateur try-out (ATO).

Foster, 24, has played for both Cincinnati of the ECHL and San Antonio this season. In 11 games for San Antonio, Foster is 4-6-0, with a 3.55 goals against average and an .888 save percentage. In eight games with Cincinnati, Foster went 7-1-0 with a 2.64 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. The Pembroke, New Hampshire, native was drafted by Florida in the fifth round (161st overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Volkening, 26, spent four seasons (2006-10) backstopping the Air Force Academy (NCAA) where he posted a 69-39-14 record in 127 collegiate games with a .911 save percentage and 2.30 goals against average.

The Rampage host the Abbotsford Heat tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center. The game features an All-You-Can-Eat package for $20 and includes bottomless hot dogs, nachos, soda, peanuts and popcorn.
