Joe Whitney had the game-winning goal at 3:31.
- Albany is on a four-game point streak, which is tied for fourth for longest active point streak in the AHL. During their recent run, the Devils posted a 5-4 overtime loss against Manchester (Dec. 30), a 2-1 overtime setback at Adirondack (Dec. 31), a 5-4 overtime win at Norfolk (Jan. 6) and a 3-1 victory at Norfolk (Jan. 7).
- A win Saturday would mark the second time this season that the Devils have won three-consecutive games. They accomplished the feat with a 3-2 win against Hamilton (Oct. 29), a 3-2 win against Binghamton (Nov. 2) and a 1-0 win against Norfolk (Nov. 4).
- Eric Gelinas was one of five Devils players to register at least one point in both games this weekend. He had identical stat lines in both games with a goal, an assist and a plus-2 rating. He now has eight points (4g-4a) in the last six games.
