LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts (30-20) received three home runs and a strong start from Daniel Webb to defeat the Peoria Chiefs (28-24), 8-4, on Tuesday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

Carlos Perez got the Lugnuts on the board with a two-run home run off Chiefs starter Hayden Simpson (Loss, 1-2) two batters into the first. After recording just two outs, Simpson was pulled for reliever Eric Jokisch, who was rudely welcomed to the game by a three-run Bryson Namba homer, capping off a six-run first inning.

Kevin Nolan added the seventh run of the game with his second home run of the year in the fourth inning.

Webb (Win, 4-4) fired six scoreless innings, striking out four while scattering six hits against the Midwest League's top offensive team.

The Chiefs made things interesting in the eighth inning with four runs off reliever Marcus Walden, but the door was slammed shut by Steve Turnbull (Save, 13), who came on for the four-out save.

The Lugnuts and right-hander Casey Lawrence (4-5, 3.74) will take on the Chiefs and lefty Austin Kirk (3-2, 2.06) in the middle affair of the three game series on Wednesday, June 1st, for Ladies' Night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
